Healing Through Creativity, Connection & Compassion

Melanie A. Glassey, Licensed Professional Counselor and Art Therapist

Hi, I'm Melanie

I'm so glad you're here. Reaching out for support is a meaningful step, and I honor the courage it takes to begin.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Art Therapist with nearly 20 years of experience supporting children, teens, and adults through life's most challenging seasons.

My work lives at the intersection of clinical care and creativity — because some things are easier to paint than to say out loud.

My Background

I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a Master's degree in Art Therapy, along with a certificate in Expressive Arts Therapies.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), with nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field.

My professional background spans virtual therapy, school-based services, community mental health, and private practice, working with children, teens, and adults across a wide range of life experiences.

My Approach

My approach is warm, collaborative, and creative. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you have everything figured out.

My work is grounded in person-centered and trauma-informed care, with elements of mindfulness and creative and expressive approaches. I tailor our work to your individual needs, experiences, and goals.

Together, we'll explore your story, build on your strengths, and find new ways of understanding yourself and moving forward—at a pace that feels right for you.

Why I created

My Story

The Motherless Creative Collective

I lost my mom 15 years ago. It was a loss that changed me in ways I never could have imagined. The grief came in waves—sometimes quiet, sometimes overwhelming—and over time, I realized how much I longed for a space to feel understood by other women who truly "get it."

Creativity became one of the ways I found my way through. It helped me express what words could not and reconnect with parts of myself I thought were lost.

The Motherless Creative Collective was born from that longing—a space for daughters navigating maternal loss at any stage, where creativity, connection, and compassion can help transform grief into meaning and hope.

"You don't have to carry everything alone. There is beauty in healing, and there is hope in unexpected places."
